The Advanced Diploma of Procurement and Contracting (PSP60616) is designed for experienced procurement professionals working in, or progressing into, senior management roles within Australian Government and public sector agencies.
It is suited to individuals responsible for leading procurement and contracting functions, shaping procurement strategy, and managing complex, high-value, and high-risk procurement environments.
This qualification focuses on developing strategic capability in procurement leadership, including business case development, strategic planning, risk management, stakeholder influence, and contract governance.
Training is workplace-based, enabling participants to apply advanced procurement and contracting capability directly within their organisational context.

This qualification is suited to experienced practitioners responsible for managing complex procurement and contracting activities within public sector environments.
You will develop the ability to:
Lead complex, high-risk, or high-value procurement and contracting activities
Develop business cases and strategic procurement approaches
Plan and oversee procurement activities in complex environments
Apply advanced governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
Influence stakeholders and negotiate outcomes in complex contexts
Drive strategic procurement outcomes and organisational decisions-making

To enrol in this qualification, applicants must:
Be currently working in procurement, contracting, or contract management roles within Australian Government or public sector environments, with responsibility for leading, managing or influencing complex procurement or contracting activities or
Be a consultant or contractor providing senior-level procurement or contracting services to public sector organisations
Have substantial experience applying and leading procurement and contracting processes that involve strategic decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and contract outcomes, such as:
Leading or overseeing procurement planning and sourcing strategies
Managing complex procurement or tender processes
Evaluating and awarding high-value or high-risk contracts
Managing contract performance and supplier relationships at a strategic level
Contributing to procurement governance, risk, or compliance frameworks
Have completed a Diploma of Procurement and Contracting, or demonstrate equivalent professional experience in procurement or contracting leadership roles
Be 18 years of age or older
Complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment prior to enrolment
Hold a Unique Student Identifier (USI) prior to commencement

Provide evidence of current role and procurement or contracting responsibilities (e.g. resume, position description, contract documentation, or organisational confirmation of responsibilities)
Complete a short pre-training review to confirm suitability for this qualification

Assessment is designed to demonstrate your ability to lead and apply procurement and contracting capability in real or simulated strategic and complex contexts.
Assessment may include:
Practical tasks and projects aligned to complex, high-risk, high-value, or strategically significant procurement and contracting activities
Scenarios, role plays, and observation of applied skills in complex stakeholder and decision making environments
Written analysis and responses requiring evaluation and justification of procurement decisions and outcomes
Reflective tasks linked to strategic procurement practice, leadership and organisational impact
Use of organisational or provided documentation where appropriate
Assessment tasks are to be completed within 3 weeks following the final scheduled training session. Participants are also required to complete self-directed study outside of scheduled training sessions.
Full assessment requirements and submission timelines are provided upon enrolment.

On successful completion of all required units, participants will be awarded the PSP60616 Advanced Diploma of Procurement and Contracting qualification.
A Statement of Attainment will be issued for any units completed if the full qualification is not achieved.
