From November 6 to 8, 2024, the AELERT-INECE Global Summit for Implementing and Enforcing Environmental Law convened in Brisbane, drawing environmental regulators and professionals from across the globe. The event served as a vital platform for fostering international cooperation and advancing capabilities in implementing environmental law.

The Australian Centre for Environmental Compliance (ACFEC), led by CEO Janine Ilitch, proudly sponsored and actively supported this prestigious summit.

Fisheries NSW has strengthened its fisheries enforcement capabilities by providing specialised Government Investigations training to its Officers. This training has equipped them with enhanced skills in managing evidence and navigating legal procedures, enabling more effective efforts to combat illegal fishing activities and protect vital marine resources in their jurisdiction.

In collaboration with ACFEC, the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian enhanced their investigative skills through a tailored Certificate IV in Government Investigations course. Officers gained confidence, practical skills, and legislative knowledge, enabling them to conduct thorough investigations and effectively present evidence in court.
