ACFEC at AELERT 2026: Connecting with Australia's Environmental Regulators

ACFEC joined environmental regulators and compliance professionals at the AELERT 2026 Conference in Melbourne. Find out about our Government Investigations courses and the conference discount.

ACFEC was proud to take part in the AELERT 2026 Conference, held in Melbourne from 6 to 8 October. AELERT, the Australasian Environmental Law Enforcement and Regulators Network, brings together the people who protect our natural environment through regulation and enforcement.

Our CEO, Janine hosted the ACFEC stand. Over three days they spoke with regulators, investigators and compliance officers from across the country about the challenges of their work and the training that supports it.

Why this conference matters to us

Environmental and regulatory officers carry significant responsibility. They gather evidence, interview witnesses, apply statutory powers and make decisions that must stand up to scrutiny. Events like AELERT give us the chance to hear directly from the people doing that work, so our courses stay practical and relevant to the field.

One highlight was the conference theme, “Future Ready Regulation”, which explored how regulators can use innovation and emerging technologies, including AI, to deliver smarter, more effective regulation.
