Biosecurity Emergency Response Training
ACFEC’s biosecurity training is nationally recognised and has a significant focus on learning through workplace simulations, contextualised to meet the operating environment of the client.
Qualifications
ACFEC delivers the following to state, territory and international agencies and departments:
PUA30922 - Certificate III in Public Safety (Biosecurity Emergency Response Operations)
This qualification trains learners to act as operational members in the case of a biosecurity emergency response. Learners will gain skills in following biosecurity emergency response procedures:
Decontamination
Working in quarantine zones
Adhering to procedures while working in a local disaster control centres
PUA40422 - Certificate IV in Public Safety (Biosecurity Emergency Response Leadership)
This qualification trains leaners to be equipped for leadership in the case of a biosecurity emergency response. Learners will gain skills in the following biosecurity emergency procedures:
Ensuring adherence to workplace procedures
Effective communication to team members
Adhering to procedures while working in a local disaster control centres
PUA50622 - Diploma of Public Safety (Biosecurity Emergency Response Management)
This qualification trains learners to act as managers in a local disaster control centre in the case of a biosecurity emergency response. Learners will gain skills in following biosecurity emergency response procedures:
Ensuring adherence to workplace procedures
Effective communication to team members
Adhering to procedures while working in a local disaster control centre
Managing stressful situations
Managing operational teams

Workplace Simulation
ACFEC delivers workplace simulations of emergency biosecurity responses in order to ensure that learners have real, hands on experience in order to further enrich their learning and apply the content learned in the theoretical components of the course. The workplace simulations are tailored to meet the specific need of the client.
Our learning approach relies on well-established ADDIE model and the adoption of a flipped-classroom model as part of the educational design for the program.
