User Choice Funding

User Choice Funding (UCF) is an Australian Apprenticeship initiative that provides funding contributions by the ACT Government for training to eligible individuals. The ACT Government pays the User Choice funding for the qualification directly to ACFEC and the trainee pays only an enrolment fee to ACFEC.

*New Worker: Employed as an employee less than three months full time or 12 months part time up to the commencement date of the training contract.

**Existing Worker: Employed as an employee for more than 3 months full time or 12 months part time prior to the commencement date of the contract.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for an ACT training contract the employee must:

  • Work in the ACT, although the headquarters of your organisation may be elsewhere;

  • Be at least 15 years old;

  • Be an Australian citizen;

  • Be a Permanent resident of Australia;

  • Be a New Zealand passport holder who has been a resident in Australia for more than 6 months;

  • Be a person who holds a visa that is identified as being eligible;

  • Work full-time or part-time (minimum 15 hours per week);

  • Make sure the proposed area of study relates to duties performed in the workplace;

  • Be adequately supervised and paid for undertaking or attending structured training; and

  • Be undertaking one of the funded qualifications.

PLEASE NOTE that casual employees, subcontractors and all government employees are ineligible for funding.

HOW TO APPLY

1. Complete the online ACFEC course enrolment form

2. Arrange a training contract by emailing Sarina Russo at BlackS@sarinarusso.com.au, copying Finance@acfec.edu.au. Please include the following information for booking signup:

  • ABN (on payslips)

  • Business name

  • Workplace address

  • Supervisor name and phone

  • Pay agreement (Federal award name or Certified Agreement Name)

  • Full name of trainee

  • Home Address

  • Mobile

  • Email

  • Date of birth

  • USI

  • Qualification to be undertaken

3. ACFEC will email a training plan to you once your training contract has been approved.  The training plan requires the signatures of you and your employer.  The signed training plan needs to be returned to ACFEC within 5 working days.

4. Complete the Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment by logging into Moodle. You can access Moodle through ACFEC’s website by clicking “Current Student Login” in the blue footer. Your username is your email address. You will receive your password once your enrolment has been processed.
