The Advanced Diploma is tailored for Managers and Senior Managers in the Public Service currently in or aspiring to a management role in strategic procurement and contracting.

This programme is ideal for experienced procurement professionals looking to enhance their strategic management expertise. Designed for seasoned individuals in public sector procurement, this advanced 12-week course includes one session per week and will propel your career into strategic leadership roles, providing in-depth insights and skills that extend beyond the diploma level.

  • Who Can Enrol

    This qualification/ course is designed for individuals currently working in or with the public sector in roles related to procurement, purchasing, or contract management. You may apply if you are:

    • Employed by a local, state, or federal government department or agency

    • A consultant or contractor actively providing procurement or contracting services to a public sector organisation

      To apply, you’ll need to provide evidence of your current role or engagement with a public sector body.

    You might be:

    • A procurement or contract officer in a government agency

    • A consultant supporting public sector procurement or tendering processes

    • A contractor managing supplier relationships or compliance for a government project

    • A specialist seconded to a public organisation to assist with procurement activities

    • Successful completion of a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) test.

    • There are no formal entry requirements for this program. However, it’s recommended that you gain substantial work experience in a contract management or leadership role during the course to provide workplace evidence of your competency.

    • If you don’t have work-based experience, we recommend you first complete the Diploma of Procurement and Contracting or gain a minimum of five years’ experience working in a contract management environment.

  • ACFEC applies a risk-based approach to determine the risks of an assessment tool. Assessment tools include:

    • practical exercises

    • participation in a workplace simulated assessment activity

    • testing of underpinning knowledge through short answer questions, and

    • requests for learners to provide evidence of prior application of skills and pre-courses assignment (where required and requested by the client)
